How Herald works
Not a job board. Employers brief us on who they need and what they'll pay; we find those people. Here is exactly what happens, in order.
The three steps
-
Step 01 An employer briefs us
Role, state, shift and the pay they will actually offer. It goes up looking exactly like this.
Warehouse Team Lead
Company name withheld until they contact you1
$22 – $25 / hr2
Columbus, OHFull-time · 1st shift
Running a 12-person pick line on days. Forklift certification paid for on site.
Confirmed open 2 days ago3
- 1Name withheld until they call you. That is what makes them willing to publish the next line.
- 2No pay range, no brief. We turn work away over this line.
- 3Dated, so you can tell a live role from a dead one.
-
Step 02 You tell us what you do
One screen. No second page, no account waiting at the end of it.

- 1Pick the closest fit. You're matched on the field, not on a job title.
- 2State and shift, because nights in Ohio is a different job from days in Ohio.
- 3No resume, no account, no password. About sixty seconds.

Step 03 Matching employers get this
Not a profile, not a resume. This is the entire record that crosses over.

- 2We can print this list because it's short. Ask any job board for theirs.
Then what?
Your part ends at step three. Four things happen next.
We check you against every open brief in your state
Not just the one you were looking at. A forklift operator in Ohio goes in front of every employer with an open warehouse brief in Ohio.
Matching employers receive your details
Name, contact details, field, work type, and any optional answers you gave. Nothing you didn't tell us.
They contact you directly
Usually within two days, sometimes the same afternoon. From there it is between you and them. We don't sit in the middle or take a cut of your pay.
If nothing matches yet
We hold your details and come back when a matching brief lands. Rather we didn't? The removal link is at the bottom of every page.
What we never do: charge you a fee, ask for your bank details or Social Security number before you're hired, post your details publicly, or sell your information to advertisers.
Common questions
Is this free? What's the catch?
It's free and stays free. Employers pay us when we introduce someone they want to hire. You will never be asked for a fee, a deposit, or payment for training, equipment or a background check. If anyone asks you for money in our name, it isn't us — tell us.
What exactly happens to my details?
They go to employers and recruiters with an open brief matching your field, state and work type, so they can contact you about those roles. We don't publish them or sell them to advertisers, and our contracts stop employers passing them on. Remove everything any time with the Do Not Sell or Share link at the bottom of every page; we process it within 15 business days.
How many companies will contact me?
Usually one to three, depending on how many open briefs match you. They'll reach you by phone, text or email. If you prefer one channel, tell them when they call.
Do I need a resume?
No. The form is all we need. If an employer wants one later they'll ask you directly, and many roles here never ask for one at all.
Why won't you show me the company name?
Most employers brief us confidentially — often they're replacing someone who doesn't know yet, or don't want hundreds of unscreened applications. Holding the name back is what makes them willing to publish a real pay range. You get the name as soon as they contact you.
I filled it in and nobody called. What now?
Tell us and we'll give you a straight answer: either nothing in your state matched, or we dropped it. Some fields move in a day, others take a couple of weeks. If nothing matches now we hold your details and come back when something does — or remove you, if you'd rather.
Ready when you are.
One form, about sixty seconds, no resume. We'll do the rest. Want to see what is open first? Browse jobs by field.
